So many conversations... what are they really saying? There was a time, not so long ago, that doing a search for your brand or company or personal name on Google would give you a fairly accurate portrayal of your online reputation. Not any longer. With the proliferation of social networks like Facebook and Twitter, as well as social sharing sites such as Digg and Reddit, most of which are not indexed by Google, it is difficult to get an idea of where you stand, never mind how your reputation has trended over time. To add to the confusion, reputation is derived not only from conversations, but also from links - a link to you from a disreputable site can be as damaging as someone calling your product crap.
